Tina and Julie Visit

Julie and Tina came to see the house today. We have been friends now for eight years. We go way back to our Photo Art days with Neil Rickman. Thats where our friendship began and has continued until today and will continue into eternity. Having friends be a part of this house makes it even more special. Can't wait to make memories here. They hadn't seen the house in a while so they were amazed how far along it has come. When I look at this picture with us standing in front of it the house looks like a giant. I guess I am getting so use to seeing it that it doesn't seem so big now.

The front entry staircase went in today just before we got there. I really like it.

Tina and I in the Master bath shower. The tile is getting done and it looks amazing.
This shower can fit at least six people.

Me, Tina and Julie on the sun deck.

The back view where the orchard is and the tower with our clock.

Home Designs for the Future

Jeremy and Eric just before the framing started. Almost 14 months ago.

Last Christmas while we were in Cancun my wife gave me my Birthday present. It was tickets to the "Freedom Concert" in San Diego. 13,000 patriots! Red, White and Blue flowing everywhere you looked. It was like an ultimate 4th of July party. I have to admit it was a little strange being surrounded by 13,000 patriots who love their country, loved God, respected and admired those heros who are on foreign lands fighting terrorism to keep our nation safe. Our builder, Jeremy Johnson is one of those heros who took the last two weeks away from us and his family to do his duty as a reserve. To be on call which at any moment can take him away from his family, his obligations, our home that he is building, to protect our nation. It was a hard two weeks as so many things are falling into place and so many workers need guidance. Its when those who lead step out of the picture for just a moment that you realize just how much they are missed. Sometimes we need to be shown what it would be like to not have those we value most, to be around us, support us and take charge of their duties that they are so qualified to do. Yes it was a hard two weeks but Jeremy is BACK and we are very thankful for his love for his nation, his commitment to his family and commitment to our home to making it the vision we had set out for. This story reminds me of the commitment that Jeremiah Denton made when he was shot down and held prisoner for seven years in a Vietnam prison camp. It was the longest incarceration of a soldier in the history of our nation which lasted seven years. Who could ever forget that day at Clark Airfield in the Philippines when the plane landed and the door opened and Jeremiah Denton walked through that door as a free man. He saluted the flag and thanked his commander in chief for allowing him to serve his country. Seven years where spent as a captive in which a young man became an old man. This is what Heros are made of. Last Friday night we watched Lee Greenwood sing "I'm proud to be an American". We listened to Michael W. Smith sing"Above All" and watched the actor who played Christ in "The Passion of the Christ" cry as he shared his story of filming the movie while Michael W. Smith sang "Above All". When we think about this home we have to remember its God's home. Its not ours. It was built as a destination home to be used for God's will. Jeremy Johnson plays a major role in this home. He is our builder! An American Hero! We are glad he did his duty but now he's back.
