The Journey!

Have you ever had a day when everything went well? I mean really well. When everything that happened, happened for the better? Well today was one of those days. I haven't had a day like this in well.... since the last time we blogged. I don't mean the blog from last night because thats when all the good started. I mean the one so long ago. But today was good. Eric and I began our day by sleeping in until 7:45am which is really sleeping in for us. We handed this day over to the Lord and thanked Him for everything He has done for us and asked His guidance on this day. I think we were emotionally drained. Drained because to be perfectly honest, we almost lost the vision. Life became so busy with all the do-lists that we began to lose our way. I don't know if anyone out there knows that feeling but its not a good feeling. But we serve a mighty God who loves us and is watching over us. He reeled us back in and just in time. This house is not just a house. Its a journey. An adventure. Thats sounds weird huh? But its true. We are learning so much from this process. The main thing we are learning is "Trust". To trust God in his perfect timing. Second to be "patient". Patient in waiting for the right time for all things. We were getting anxious about our move in date. We wanted it to happen now but really God had another plan. He had a plan when it took so long at the city and we added the basement. Who knows why we built it but I know we were suppose to. If the plans came out sooner from the city than that basement wouldn't be built. If we had moved in on our estimated completion date of September 7th then we would have picked the wrong paint color because I just changed it today. Or how about the Lanai granite. It was a blue but really it should have been more on the green side. Today we switched the granite. But if we had moved in last month we would have blue granite. Or how about the wood flooring going into the Bordeaux room being changed to carpet. Brittanys rug got changed from one color to another. All to make things better. We picked the most unique marble with green in it for the Salon. It sounds so silly now to write this but you had to have been there today as so many things got switched. Everything was just falling into place. Oh my gosh does anyone out there know what I mean? Building a home can at times become overwhelming and if it were not for the Lord hearing our prayers this morning I'm not really sure how this day would have turned out. Even the paint color changed at the last possible moment. So no matter what, I have learned that God IS in control and His timing IS perfect. So whenever we move in, if before Thanksgiving, on Thanksgiving or after Thanksgiving we will be celebrating and giving Thanks because He was with us all the way. And what an awesome journey it has been.
